Ulla brought the wines, I tasted double blind.
Two interesting wines and one bonus that I didn't really get to taste in detail. The Candialle was really a disappointment for me.
2009 Julicher Estate Pinot Noir 89 Points
New Zealand, North Island, Wairarapa, Martinborough
Decanted, tasted double blind. Quite a pale orange red. The nose was elegant, with sweet rasberry, cherry and some beetroot, quite enjoyable. The palate was rather soft, few tannins, a bit peppery with lots of red fruit. A rather nice wine.

2008 Candialle Chianti Classico 85 Points
Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG
Decanted, tasted double blind. A dark purpley red wine. The nose was a bit strange, seaweed, iodine, dark berries, even some toast. The palate had quite gritty tannins, an earthy aspect, bitter dark fruits. Hmm, this was not really impressive and I was quite disappointed when I found out what it was.

2008 Antinori Chianti Classico Marchese Antinori Riserva
Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG
Had a quick taste of this, my impression was of a very nice wine with acidity, tannins and fruit in place. Very nice!
