Medium(+) ruby, remarkable aromas of paprika spice and liquorice. Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium(-) mature tannin. Savoury palate reminiscent of Branston Pickle (sic), gamey almost. Silky smooth long finish, this wine rather than forthcoming needs to be approached. Very different from the previous bottles.
No notes taken: this wine blew everyone away. Developed aromas of red and black fruits, cedar and spice. On the palate black ripe fruit, mineral and mocha flavours are underpinned by thick rich texture. Beautifully balanced, substantial wine at peak of its maturity, tannins melt into the fruit flavours only to re-emerge in the 'endless' finish. Glorious and complete. WOTN
