Only 12.5% ABV. Very distinctive character derived from acidic soil and porphyrite rock, completely different from the Nebbiolos from Alba. Sour black cherries on the nose, good depth, mineral; satiny texture, medium weight, transparent and precise, focused by its minerality and freshness; a pleasant softness is buffered by good (but certainly not forbidding) tannic grip, well-judged oak provides warmth; good length. Good stuff.
Served slightly warm. Quite a reddish colour; good nose, deep, bright red fruit, lots of spice and a nice nuttiness; rich palate, sweet but not sticky, well-balanced, warm, silky; good length.
Rich orange amber colour; deep nose, rich, candied fruit, earth, nuts, intense orange peel, almond; rich and powerful palate, slightly hot and there is a rough edge to it, but brimming with character; very good length,
