Some petrol on nose initially then citrus and peach. Good acidity. Palate is lemon with a slight acrid, bitter note.

  • 2004 Château Lynch-Bages 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Already a rim. Spiced blackcurrant and with leather emerging. Tannins quite present still but easily drinkable as rather soft. Lowish acidity and ok length.

  • 2000 Château Lynch-Bages 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Sweeter, more developed nose - cassis and pencil shavings. On the palate more development and well integrated. Apparently this was a perfect vintage. This opened very well in the glass and I think was nearly my WOTN.
This compared much more favourably to me than the Pontet Canet 2000 I had with Ray just a few weeks before.

  • 1996 Château Les Ormes de Pez 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe

Lovely developed nose. Nice balance. Not hugely concentrated though but very pleasant drinking (and good price point).

  • 1996 Château Lynch-Bages 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Big rich tertiary nose and palate. Spicy blackcurrant, leather and so smooth in the mouth. Wonderful balance yet still has plenty of structure.

  • 1990 Château Lynch-Bages 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Drunk from a magnum. Nose is quite floral. gentle tannins but so delicate. Great balance - the acid is still a good medium with the tannins present but clearly matured to a different level. (see previous note)
