  • 1998 Chateau Musar 89 Points

    Lebanon, Bekaa Valley

Clear and bright, low intensity, distinctly orange. Almost fleshy fruit notes, pepper and mushrooms a little more elusive. Rich, good acidity, lighter than the usual Musar style with red current fruit, perhaps a little shorter. Unusually light - possibly higher Cinsault content? Echoes of Burgundy here!

  • 1995 Chateau Musar 88 Points

    Lebanon, Bekaa Valley

Clear and bright. Medium intensity, brown hue. Figgy nose but somewhat closed, touch of warm spices. More fogginess on the palate. A bit of an oddball. High acidity, balsamic, savoury. No real length but interesting - almost PX like in some ways. Possible bottle variation as not aligned with the Musar tasting notes.
