France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
A wine that I've often found prematurely oxidized, this was the best bottle I can recall since shortly after release. Peach, lemon, lemon peel and toasted bread.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
This is the Domaine bottling of Jadot Beze (vs the negociant bottling that goes back at least this far). Ripe black fruit with good spice intensity. Very good freshness and structure. A very well balanced 2003 that will age very well because of the balance and acidity vs most wines from the vintage. Better than a Jadot 2003 negociant Beze from earlier this year.
Ripe black fruit, liqueur hints, vanilla, dark chocolate, espresso. Enough structural support to keep the ripe character in balance and even-keeled. Probably no upside from here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Bless the Durand. Lots and lots of earth and sous bois, this was more fascinating than tasty, but stayed interesting over the 30-40 minutes I was tasting this wine. As close to a 1930 vintage bottle as possible today, thank you for sharing, Ken.
2005 Henri Boillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes Flawed

Drinkable, but past its peak.

2005 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Plenty of apple and pear at a good point in its maturity, still showing a hint of pronounced new oak, but otherwise a charming glass today.

2000 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Chaupin Flawed
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Came across to me as not only over-ripe, but also stewy and likely heat damaged.
