France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Enjoyed with Epoisses and a delicious crème cheese as an aperitif. Strongly creamy, with beautiful 2010 fruit and acidity, this just shines creamy juniper berries atop bright white fruits. Outstanding flavor profile with great style and cut. I loved this.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
This bottle superb, with no hint of the pox or any other issues, confirming that my last bottle was a bit off. Rich golden yellow, this was opened an hour before serving, and was still developing until the last sip 3 hours later. Very ponderous and slow to open, this was group's least favorite until it started to open up. Deep, rich, subtle, and profound. A bit of heat on the finish as this warms, this is not a small or wispy wine. This will last another decade, no doubt, so allow plenty of time for my next bottle. Tied for first place.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Nice acidity, and beautifully chiseled aromas and flavors. I thought this was the 07 Puligny, so this is detailed and precise. Very persistent in both mouth and glass over time, this showed no decline or heat over two hours in glass. Very stylish and elegant, yet also balanced and pure. Really quite impressive, and obviously young. Tied for first place.

Flamboyant, extroverted, and flashy. Coconut, marmalade and other exotic notes on top of superb structure, and very persistent in the mouth. A sex goddess of a wine, though it started to unravel a bit more quickly than others in the tasting, with a bit of heat emerging as it warmed. This was leading the pack the first hour, but then fell behind as others started to shine. Third place.
Upfront lemon aromas and flavors with nice style, but just not in the same league as the others in the flight. Noticeably declining after an hour in glass. Guessed by all as the 2011 village wine among more mature 1er Crus, this might have shone more in different company. Fourth place.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Served as a special surprise at the end of the blind portion of our regular tasting group's white burgundy evening. The star of the show after a wide range of burgs. Brilliant. Medium to light bodied, still a rich yellow color (no golden or ambering tones), with subtle caramel notes and tons of tertiaries atop pure, heavily nuanced, and classic aromas and flavors. No decline in glass over half an hour. Puligny precision from a great vintage. Wow. 95pts pure quality, 97pts personal preference.
My palate was a bit shot at this point, and this was a bit cold to really assess, but I remember bright, cool, pure and precise citrus flavors, with not much oxidative, brioche, or yeasty orientation. Very enjoyable.
