Flight 1 (7 Notes)

  • 2008 Perelada Cava Brut Nature Gran Claustro 90 Points

    Spain, Cava

Creamy citrus, nice complexity of flowers and spice, good depth on the nose, very fresh and linear on the palate, dry but not austere.

  • 2011 Fillaboa Rías Baixas Selección Finca Monte Alto 92 Points

    Spain, Galicia, Rías Baixas

Deliciously rounded and supple style, very floral, moreish and fruit-driven, but just as you suspect this might be a Riesling, the salty minerality kicks in and you are transported back to Rias Baixas. Lovely balance and tension, charming and elegant.

  • 2011 Do Ferreiro Albariño Rías Baixas Cepas Vellas 91 Points

    Spain, Galicia, Rías Baixas

200 year old vines. Classic style, intense and incredibly salty, flowers, linear, fresh and mineral, precise to the point of austerity.

  • 2011 Emilio Rojo Ribeiro 93 Points

    Spain, Galicia, Ribeiro

Treixadura, Loureiro and Lardo. Sea breeze, minerals, subtle notes of herbs and citrus, deep, very pure, great sense of place; fresh like a mountain stream, dry but not acidic, intense but light as a feather, tension and elegance; very good length.

  • 2009 Vins Miquel Gelabert Pla i Llevant Sa Vall Selecció Privada 92 Points

Spain, Balearic Islands, Pla i Llevant

100% Giró Blanc, fermented with the skins and the stems, aged in 8 year old barriques; full yellow with a hint of gold; oaky, almost caramelly (but no toast) initially, smoky and stalky later on; on the palate fresh and citric initially but well balanced, later on spicy with rich flavours, layered, develops a lovely complexity in the glass, almost red fruit; very good length. Enigmatic but attractive.

  • 2007 Anima Negra Àn Coupage Especial Amador 92 Points

Spain, Balearic Islands, Vi de La Tierra Mallorca

Two barriques produced especially for/by restaurant Amador in Mannheim, Germany. Mantonegro (aged in 2nd year French barrique), Callet (stainless steel) Fogo Neo (aged in 2nd year American barrique). Wonderful complexity and depth, smoky bacon (slate!) and tar, cherry, fresh, floral; rich fruit on the palate, silky texture, medium weight and quite firm tannic grip, rather stylish actually, Natterman finish, very good length.
