Flight 1 (7 Notes)

  • 2010 Batlliu de Sort Costers del Segre Biu Blanc de Noirs

    Spain, Catalunya, Costers del Segre

Breadcrumb and breadcrumb again. Overripe. Champagne memories? I don't know. Bored to the bone that's the way we're walking.
    Notes of cologne. Perhaps vinegary.
Shortie without any depth on the palate. Neither one thing or the other.

Miga de pan y miga de pan. Sobre madurez. ¿Recuerdos del Champagne? No lo se. Aburrido hasta la médula eso sí. Notas a colonia.

  • 2011 Newton Johnson Pinot Noir Elgin

South Africa, Cape South Coast, Elgin

Natural rubber notes letting rotten eucalyptus leaf and pickling partridge with ground black pepper past.
Horrible palate: alcoholic, a bitter mouthfeel without any sense. Every element went one's own way.

  • 2008 Marcel Deiss Burlenberg

    France, Alsace

Absolutely reduced on the nose initially.
With some air elegant notes of shoe cleaner emerge.
Its evolution went to fresh tobacco leave.
Palate, dammed vintage, is quite shortie and without any length. Pitiful.
I always liked this natural producer who is adding pinot Gris from time to time.

  • 2004 Dalwhinnie Pinot Noir

    Australia, Victoria, Western Victoria, Pyrenees

Notes if vegetables and milk that has gone off.
Maybe wet peanut shells. For the others black olives when I founded a water ashtray. Oxide and over the hill elements. With more time Tia Maria liquor on the rocks turned up.
On the palate showed very faded, going directly to your throat regardless quite acid. Shortie anyway.

Notas vegetales y a leche pasada.
Cortita.

  • 2010 Felton Road Pinot Noir Calvert

New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago

    Well-known wine. Boring and predictable.
Some electric and bitter on the palate, like a battery.
    Without punch, personality either.
Where the traditional smokiness has gone?

    Ya conocido. Aburrido y previsible.

  • 2010 Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Alea

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru

Very Trapet what is a defect to me and it's made in heaven to the others.
Frutty, caramel-like but any significant aspect.
In my experience Trapet's bottles need a lot of time to entry in the phase I like the most.
Better palate but very very short.
The bitter aftertaste saved the day.
By the way, don't look for the Alea vineyard...this is just a blend of different 1er Cru lieux-dits. Alea means hazards in french.

  • 2011 Kistler Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard

USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast

Elegant aroma of violets and richly earthy but smelling little artificial, perhaps plastics.
Dense, alcoholic and long on the palate.
In my modest opinion, too much young to be enjoyed at this point.
Understanding what it is...just ready for the American taste?
