France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Great wine already drinking very well young. Nose with mint and citrus, also some resinous tones. Taste lots of extract, a bit understated but with great tension, fine acids, very balanced. Long finish, just lingers on.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Great wine, already drinking well now although it is young. Expressive nose with typical minty tones. Sexy taste, lovely fruit and richness, great tension and balance. Long finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru
Lovely nose, fruit, almonds, candied sweets. Taste very rich, complex, sweet fruit, dense, lovely acidity in background. Think this is still a bit primary, the multiple layers of flavours changing in time in the mouth, that I observed in some elderly Montrachet's are present only limited here. Typical Montrachet, great experience.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Nose at first tight, takes some time to open. Palate full-bodied and rich, beautifully balanced with acidity. What is exceptional about this wine is not only balance and finesse, but also the extremely long finish that lingers on for minutes with lovely flavours in the mouth.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Wonderful wine. Nose Vosne spice, lots of red and black fruit. Concentrated taste. Although this is young, it is very pleasant to drink now due to its impeccable balance.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Wine with lots of material is developing. What is a bit troubling is the rather harsh acidity that is present. Hopefully it softens out, otherwise it will become a problem when this wine matures further.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Muscular, big wine. Had thought this would be tight and closed, but it was surprisingly open. Lots of material, lots of tannins but buffered by the lovely fruit. Became even better in time in the glass. Very good to drink now, but I think this will develop into absolute greatness in future.
NV Jacques Selosse Initial
