Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • NV Domaine Serene "R"

    USA, Oregon

1200cs/yr. has a rather provencal feel to the nose. Light strawberry fruit with some yellow lees notes. This is 97% 2013 juice with some barrel aged PN added to the blend. 3% would be the suggestion. More going on with the palate than its subtle ‘peau’ color would suggest. More full and new world-y presence on the palate. Graham cracker.

  • 2012 Domaine Serene Chardonnay Evenstad Reserve

USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills

Candied lemon peel aromas. Nose shows a very burgundy-styled approach. Nuanced. More mineral than fruit to the nose. Subtle, light clove and spice to the palate, but not an overburdened Chardonnay. Not too creamy, but some circus peanut to the palate.

  • 2009 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir

    USA, Oregon

2009 was a warm year. No Evanstad was made. This doesn’t not remind me of Bergstrom Cumberland or more so, even some DGs that I’ve had. Ripe and plump dark cherry, black cherry aromas. Some 7up-styled citrus pep to the nose. Big and round for Oregon style. Very easy drinking. Concentration for a basic PN light mineral spice to the aromas. Lots of fruit to the palate., but still drinking in a very satisfying manner for a basic OR PN. They made some in 2007 as well

  • 2008 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Jerusalem Hill

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley

Great aromatics, dark cherry and wild red berry aromas. A touch of herb and spice. More complex with orange zest, cardamom. Has a drier and less concentrated feel than the 09 OR PN. That’s the beauty of 08 over the warmth of 09. With some dark earthy elements here as well.
