I'm used to mixing Aligote with Cassis, and usually when I drink the wine by itself there isn't very much that is memorable. This wasn't so different: nothing memorable or objectionable.
This began with a sharpness, and there was a hint of volatile acidity on the nose. The fruit was not very pronounced and the acidity was a little soft for my tastes.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
I'm assuming this is the ``Boucheres" bottling. It seemed to me that the wood was prominent on the nose. Nice minerality, but a little light on the fruit. Softer acidity than the Chassagne-Montrachet that we drank just prior to this one, but very elegant.
Some candied raspberry on the nose and a hint of stems. Good acidity, but rather light bodied and only high toned red fruit. A hint of browning around the edges, but sharp acidity and not so much tannin on the finish. Not as much depth as some of the other Vosne-Romanee village wines I've tried, but still very enjoyable.
The nose was rather moldy to start, but this became more damp earth as it evolved in the glass a bit. There was some dark fruit on the palate, but this seemed a little lacking in acidity. The tannin on the finish had a rather pronounced bitterness. There was some browning around the edges, commensurate with the age.
Fairly bright red fruits on the nose, raspberries and some minty notes together with some perceptible oak spice. Light bodied, but light acidity as well (the nose suggested there was more), somewhat flat on the finish.
2013 Pascal & Mireille Renaud Mâcon-Solutre
France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Mâcon-Solutre
Soft nose of citrus/lemon peel. Very bright acidity that ended with a peppery sharpness. Nevertheless, still pleasant, especially for the price.
