  • 2010 Ca' Rugate Amarone della Valpolicella

Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Amarone della Valpolicella

Appearance is clear, deep intensity, garnet-ruby colour. Legs.

Not sure why, but I seem to sense some flavour dilution here. Doesn't have the full-on concentration from a usual Amarone, especially for one so young. If I tasted this blind I would have said this was a Valpolicella instead of Amarone. Approachable now.
Acceptable quality. I think this is not for extended ageing.

Good quality approachable Barsac sweet wine. Second label of Chateau Climens. A little lean if compared to Sauternes first wines. I think this is nice to drink now. Could go for a few more years, but for early drinking, not for extended ageing.
