Seven wines, ranging from the Sparkler up to the estate Barolo.
These wines will never make the QPR superstar list, and there were a couple of misses, but the hits were home runs.
2007 Bruno Giacosa Spumante Extra Brut 85 Points
Italy, Lombardia, Lombardia Spumante
A little sweet. Lighter style, with a little flab on ths finish. Not a great QPR.

2013 Bruno Giacosa Roero Arneis 87 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Roero
Slight perfume to the nose. Light, with a crisp finish. Lemon and a bit of stone on the palate. Decent white but does not stand out.

2012 Bruno Giacosa Dolcetto d'Alba
Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba
Beautiful, expressive blueberry nose. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the wine. The palate was rocked by a lashing of harsh tannins that let none of the expected fruit escape. I questioned the winery rep and the tasting host and both confirmed this was normal for the wine. It might reward a 1-2 year sleep, and certainly the nose says fruit lives behind the curtain. Judgement reserved.

2012 Bruno Giacosa Barbera d'Alba 90 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Barbera d'Alba
Fantastic nose, balanced and long on the palate. Medium to medium-full body, rolls around in the mouth and leaves you wanting more. Fruit forward style, but seems to have enough to hold for a while.

2012 Bruno Giacosa Nebbiolo d'Alba 89 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba
Light nose, medium bodied with light ruby color. Good fruit balanced by a fair amount of tannin on the well-defined finish. Should be popping in a year or two, in the meantime serve it with something acidic or a sharp cheese.

2011 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano 92 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco
Lively red color. Excellent interplay of red fruits and leather. Medium full body, great acidity, long, long finish. This one hides in the corners of your mouth and comes leaping out just when you think it was done. Nice.

2008 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Riserva Le Rocche Del Falletto 94 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Deep in color, nose a bit reticent at first but blooms in the glass with time. Tannins and fruit in harmony. Long finish, deep and pure. Give it at least five years of rest, it will last for a long, long time.
