Nose: Not a typical Chablis nose, more modern in style. Very ripe fruit like pineapple, mango and a bit of vanilla. With more time in the glass you get more of a floral and a cauliflower note. Palate: Good acidity, nice calcareous note which is so typical for Chablis. Much more mineral driven than the nose. Lovely citrus component on the finish. You can enjoy this wine now, don´t think that its a must to cellar it for several more years.
Nose: Very ripe fruit, apple, pineapple, a bit of pear and a bit soapy. Palate: Major lack of acidity for me here and you can feel the alcohol through which is always a knock-out fact for me. A bit of a mineral taste on the finish. Not my cup of tea.
Nose: At first you get a bit of a cheese component like a ripe brie, behind that you can find more of a dark fruit like dark sour cherry, amarena cherry and a bit of water melon. Appeals fresh & super young for a 12 year old wine. Palate: Very good acidity, tannins are recognisable, good power and tension. Medium+ finish. Nice showing.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Nose: Dark cherry, a bit of spices like cinnamon, peppermint and a hint of wood. Palate: Fresh & focused on the palate with good acidity & tannin structure. A espresso/licorice component which appeals a bit bitter on the back-end.
Nose: A beautiful nose which was much more opened, espically with some time in the glass compared to the 98 I had a few weeks ago. A bit of raspberry & sour cherry, licorice, eucalyptus, vinegar, a hint of black elder and leather. Palate: Appeals very fresh on the palate through the combination of a relativ high acidity & the not slaying tannins. Not the longest finish. As always in this wines you don´t recognize the relatively high alcohol. Needs another 10-15 years to fully show its whole potential although I think this will not be the vintage which could last forever.
Nose: At first this wine shows a lot of fruit but opens up for secondary aromas with more air & time in the glass. A bit of blackberry, dark sour cherry and blueberry mixed with some herbs and just a hint of vanilla & honey. But you can feel that its more a cool climate wine which is not overdone. Gets better & better with time. Palate: Very good balance between a lot of power, juiciness and acidity. Long finish with a mineral kick on the back-end. Appeals super young for a wine from 2007. Can age easily for ten more years.
