2001 Yalumba The Signature 94 Points
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
(11/10/2006)
Excellent effort on this wine. Aromas of incense, blackberry, black cherry, red raspberry, currant, earth, and vanilla. In the mouth this deep purple wine explodes with flavors of black and red fruit, with well integrated, dusty tannins. This wine has a beautiful 40+ second finish. At $30 from Costco this wine is a steal. Should last for 10+ years.

2002 Lagier Meredith Syrah 92 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder
(11/7/2006)
Elegantly styled syrah. Deep purple color. Aromoa/flavors of blackberry, black cherry, earth, and white pepper. Well layered. Nicely integrated tannins and well structured wine with nice big mouth and long, lingerning finish. Great example of a mountain syrah, deep concentrated flavors and fine grained tannins yield a beautiful syrah.

2004 Flowers Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 92 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
(11/8/2006)
Beautiful Sonoma Coast Pinot. Still a little young and tight upon opening. After 30 minutes it was very aromatic with big nose of black cherry, earth and a touch of flowers. Big fruit combined with acidity that provides a well balanced wine that has excellent depth and complexity. Lingering, smooth, elegant finish.

Good fruit of blackberry, black cherry, but empty in the mid palate and a little bitter on the finish. A bit disappointed considering WE 91 point rating.
