A very rare beast, an undisgorged Champagne, 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay (Avize, Oger, Cramant). Very unusual flavour profile too, starts out very yeasty, beery even, with estery fruit, then shows more focus on freshness, minerality and tight lemon fruit, hint of rye bread. Most instructive and very pleasant (in its way).
Rich colour; wonderful ripe fruit (mandarin, grapefruit), honeyed yet fresh, extremely expressive nose, an essence of Franken Silvaner, distinctive bitters on the palate, good weight, still has real drive and tension, lovely length. Wow.

Astounding nose, deep and rich, roses and warm Asian spices, jasmin, stalks, pure and mineral, tight and fresh; the masculine palate is powerful and mouth-staining, very structured, with rich blue fruit, really grippy tannins and wonderful mineral freshness, orange lift; excellent length. A score of 95 potentially, but wait for 10 years.
