Pale color. Forward, herbal nose. Light weight, licorice and cherry, some tar toward the end, good soil. Very good value and one can see the Piemontese origin of this.
Deep ruby core. Spiced cherry aromas. Medium weight, some anise in addition to the deep black cherry fruit. Tannic finish, not sweet at all. Very nice mouthful for short to mid-term drinking.
Light center, tawny rim. Striking fennel/celery aromatics. Light and herbal rather than fruity. Supple, lots of tobacco leaf through the mid-palate and finish, lowish tannins. This is probably the first (and definitely the best!) red Roero I've ever had. I quite liked it and thought it would be a very interesting ringer in a line up of Barbarescos.
Light ruby core, gently fading to the edge. Fragrant floral and tobacco aromas. Lighter weight, very elegant feel. Faded red fruits, rising tobacco and tannin on the finish. Not a blockbuster but very fine and stylish.
Very pale, tawny color with light bubbles. Almost a Moscato-like fragrance, despite this being a red wine. Light to medium weight, spicy, moderately sweet, finishes a little flabby. Fun but middling quality.

Medium yellow. Very aromatic. Medium weight, slight effervescence. Ripe citrus and apple, excellent finishing acidity and clay.
