Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • 1998 Chateau Musar 85 Points

    Lebanon, Bekaa Valley

The wine was okay. Perhaps it took a hit as the other red of the night was a most phenominal 97 BV Reserve. Hints of berries and fruit on the nose with a muted palate. Decent finish.

  • 2004 Rubicon Estate Chardonnay Estate Dijon Clone 88 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

This was a surpsingly good chardonnay. I have all but given up on most California chardonnay's as they seem to be nothing more than oak and butter and with the New Zealand Sav. Blancs drinking so well, its simply not something I look at anymore. This wine came as part of the Coppola wine club. They bottle it from time to time when they do not need all of it for blending with thier flagship white.

This wine had a nice hint of grapefruit and orange rind on the nose with crisp citrus on the palate, no butter or oak got int he way of it. This wine almost drank like one of the aformentioned Sav. Blancs fron NZ.

  • 1997 Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve 94 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

Im really bummed. This wine was outstanding and I do not have any more. Hints of ripe fruit and earth on the nose, with a palate of dried apples, dust, and dried cranberrries. The mouthfeel was excellent and the finsh was nice and long. If I had any more I would drink then sooner than later. im no expert, but Im not sure there is much more room for improvment. Suprisingly there was almost no sediment.
