Nice mousse and light brioche with some underlying crispness. Good subtlety. Very sound and well-rounded; has aged very well. Nice mid-weight wine which drinks nicely. Popular hit.
Pale peach color. As before, attractive aromas of cherry and light strawberry with a soft feel supported by acidity. Bright and frothy out of the bottle, then settles into a light effervescence. Pretty, persistent, food friendly. Has improved with bottle age.
A still somewhat reserved Chave Hermitage. Has the mixture of richness and purity I like in these wines, but less forward attraction than, for example, the 1997. Hints of spice on top of deep fruit with refined structure. A Burgundian styled wine. Tannins mostly resolved. Superb dinner wine. One hour decant was helpful.

Very, very nice. Firmly put together, but has a nice mix of red and dark berries on the nose. Very pure with a medium-long finish. In its drinking window, but holding well. Superb food wine. Short decant (30 min); would have benefitted with more but opened nicely in the glass.
