Purchased upon release, but I haven't tasted it since 2007. A real treat. Cross-section of apple aromas and flavors with moderate weight but very good length. Perhaps not classically "Chablis" in terms of more richness vs minerality, but a fine glass of wine.
Lots of lemon and lemon peel aromas and flavors that come across as classically Chablis with an intense minerality. Very long, very precise. Wonderful now, with a clear ageworthiness.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de Tart Grand Cru
Lush black fruit aromas with slightly sweet spice come across as ripe, but enticing. Flavors are more simply ripe and less exciting, seeming somewhat roasted to me. Good now, but I wouldn't see any upside from here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de Tart Grand Cru
This has always been a perplexing wine, and tonight's bottle was no different. Open 3 hours before serving, with one hour in decanter. Reticent and angular to start, but this opened up slowly, showing ripe red fruit and intense savory spice and concentration with great length and nuance. This will never be a wine to quickly taste and assess, rather it will always be a contemplative wine requiring undivided attention, so open/serve accordingly in order to fully appreciate this wine's full brilliance and potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de Tart Grand Cru
Ripe red fruit throughout with savory spice. Came across as wonderfully harmonious for the first hour in glass, with moderate density and length. Finish seemed slightly clipped after an hour+ in glass. Best to pop-and-pour for near-term pleasure through 2020.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Another great bottle of this wine. slightly more open and accessible than I might expect from 2002 Bonnes Mares. Both black and red cherry aromas and flavors with modest spice, great balance and very good concentration. Good now with an expanding finish that makes me think this will continue to be charming to 2025+.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Very ripe and forward with sweet fruit and spice. Really wonderful for right now. Nothing is out of place here, but this doesn't show the bones of a truly ageworthy Bonnes Mares, so I'd drink this by 2021 or so.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Popped and poured as a backup bottle. Fully mature red cherry aromas and flavors with very good balance. Moderate depth and concentration for Grand Cru, but very easy to enjoy tonight.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
I am forever grateful to Jacques for what he managed to deliver in 2003. This level of concentration was to be expected, but the amazing balance rare for the vintage.

2001 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Fully mature with lots of orchard fruit throughout. Very good concentration, but less exciting length and complexity. Probably better 5 years ago.
