Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • 2016 Pascal & Nicolas Reverdy Sancerre Rosé Terre de Maimbray 87 Points

France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre

Vibrant pink color. Crunchy estery berry fruit. Aromatic with grapefruit and melon rind. Very nice in the mouth - light bodied with a touch of bitterness and zippy medium-plus acid. Can't ask for more in a rose!

  • 2014 Crowley Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 88 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley

Medium minus red in the glass. Bright red fruit, hint of strawberry jam but also perfectly ripe red cherry. I'm a fan of the fruit character here -
not over-done, and not overly reductive. Well-integrated subtle oak. Modest alcohol - feels only 13-13.5%. Properly elevated acid. Very nice elegant pinot.

  • 2013 Reverdito Barolo

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

Seems prematurely developed, but there's a lot of pleasure here. Dried flowers, figs, and dark dried cherry. Slight brett. Tannins are already rounded - high tannins, drying. High acid. Elevated alcohol but not high. It seems developed but hasn't blossomed into tertiary notes yet. Not sure where this will go.
