An opportunity to taste some current releases from a handful of producers I know plus a few I haven't tried before. I unfortunately only had time to taste approximately half the wines in the room.
Tasting, brief note. Ripe and simple, shows the vintage character well. Easy to enjoy young.

Tasting, brief note. Slightly reductive start. Black fruit with a good meaty character. Good+ power and length. Slightly backward for now, but I like the 86-88 point potential, especially for its level.

Tasting, brief note. Also very rich, comes across as lush and very forward with good density. Could use some more energy if you wanted to hold for more than a year or three, so best to enjoy in the next few years. Very good now.

Tasting, brief note. Big, burly and powerful. Not ultra nuanced, but very good concentration and pleasure, especially for its level. Made by Domaine Parent (Ann Parent), even if label says "Jacques Parent" because of complex French wine laws.

Tasting, brief note. Purchased by Jeanne-Marie de Champs, elevage at Méo-Camuzet. Black fruit is very meaty and concentrated with some sauvage notes on nose and palate. Less firm on finish. Combination of young and old vine parcels/ barrels. Very good.

Tasting, brief note. 70% Gamay, 30% Pinot Noir. slightly jammy, but sweet and fun. Drinking very nicely for its minuscule price.

2010 Domaine J Coudray-Bizot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru La Croix Rameau
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. All red fruit with savory spice hints, surprisingly light for its level and the vintage. Moderate weight and length. Good, but I expected more.

2007 Domaine J Coudray-Bizot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru La Croix Rameau
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Aging softly, this is also lighter styled red fruit with background spice alongside a fair amount of earth. Somewhat elegant.

2010 Domaine J Coudray-Bizot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry with faint spice and meat. Also elegant;y styled, I'd never have thought this from Gevrey if served blind. Good overall.

2007 Domaine J Coudray-Bizot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Slightly reduced on nose, more forthcoming flavors. Bigger and richer vs Croix Rameau, but again more elegant than powerful, and not classically Gevrey to me. Good overall, but not really cellarworthy at this age.

2011 Domaine J Coudray-Bizot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. slightly reductive start. Forward apple aromas, flavors with moderate concentration. Good length. I would want to give this more air before enjoying, but would also consider it best to drink young.

2007 Domaine J Coudray-Bizot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Much like the 2011 orchard fruit profile, but better concentration and length. Overall good but ripeness comes through on finish detracting slightly from overall balance. Good now.
