Lovely colour and nicely fragrant — strawberry and redcurrant with some musky spice. Very fresh and almost delicate on the palate. Light on its feet. Super. ****1/2

Fairly typical on the nose, reasonably rich with a touch of ginger. Nicely fresh. This is a lovely bottle. ****1/2

Jan 2017 disgorgement. Tighter and possibly slightly reductive on the nose. A little more compact and linear on the palate initially. Pretty brooding but lots of potential and it does open up quite nicely with air. ****

Full and nicely rich. A touch of ginger. Deep. Lovely line too, this is so fresh for 96. Lovely poise. Really super. *****

04/04/07 disgorgement. Far closer to the GA than the 02 pairing. A little darker in colour but again, surprisingly fresh. Just lacking a little finesse (!) cf the GA. ****

Hugely darker than the previous wines, this really is burnished old gold and then some. Looks decades older than it is. Nose pretty advanced too. Somewhat fresher on the palate, but it's a relative term. A shadow of the 96. Some interest but this has not lasted. **1/2

17/10/05 disgorgement. Again, far darker though slightly lighter than the GA. a touch of smoke on the nose with air. Possibly marginally better than the GA overall. **1/2

Fullnd gold. A little lighter than the 95. Rich nose, but also a touch lactic. Surprisingly fresh on the palate but far more advanced than previous bottles of this. Not helped by being served alongside pudding. (*)*** with appropriate food.

Colour as per the 90. Spicier on the Jose. Lovely acidity. Really quite vinous and very mature. Just a little spikey perhaps. ***1/2

Promising Jose and reasonable on the attack, but fades though the mid palate to finish. A touch of honey on the nose. Some VA lift too. A little coarse on the finish. ***1-2

Only 3 yrs post-release aging and still pretty young. Reasonably balanced, some development on the attack but still fresh and a little spikey on the finish. Needs another year or two. ***
