Pale greenish. Some sulfur and citrus. Light, saline, and crisp, although some sulfur shows at the end. Honestly, for what it is, I liked this more than the cooperative's 2014 Premier Crus that followed.
Yellow. Orange and floral notes. Light to medium weight, some toasty oak. Round, lower acidity, low pitched citrus fruit, woody finish. Too much cooperage for this wine.
Light yellow. Reductive scents. Light to medium body, some wood. I don't get much flavor or fruit out of this one either. Much of this producer's appeal lies in the modest pricing, but here, you get what you pay for, which is not much.
Medium yellow. Sulfur nose. Rounder, broader, and longer than the 2 others with oyster, low pitched citrus, good acidity, and reasonable finish. OK, finally one with some Chablis character, but at best at the level of a mid-tier village wine. From the 3 wines sampled, I must conclude that La Chablisienne could have done much better with this great Chablis vintage, but I guess that is the peril of a cooperative.
Ruby, looks glycerine. Spicy. Medium weight, glossy feel. Dark cherry that is ripe but not overly sweet. Little soil. Polished and modern. Wood tannins arrive late and dominate the finish. Not for me.
Crystal clear light ruby. Attractive blend of red fruit and soil on the nose. Medium weight with good feel that seems infused with clay. Dark red fruit, nice acidity, lots of soil, very good length. So much more traditional than either the Gros Frère or the Perrot Minot. Excellent quality at this level and a great cuvée to exploit the charms of this vintage at a reasonable price by having it on hand as a "house Burgundy" over the next few years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Light ruby. Obvious brett present. Ripe light cherry fruit, a small amount of soil. You feel the wood later, and that plus the funk make for an astringent finish. I have not had very good experience over the years with this producer.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Light ruby core. Lovely, complex aromas of herbs and fresh fruit. Light to medium weight, strong vein of soil, blue fruit that you almost feel more than taste, and somewhat grippy tannins. I liked this a lot, but it needs at least 5 years to round into form, and it could well shut down for much longer than that.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Ruby center. Deep core of smoky red fruit with a citric lift. Penetrating with substantial backward tannins and a rising soil finish. For all the talk of the "new" Faiveley, this is pretty traditional. Serious wine that requires a full 10 years of aging to start to peel back the structure. At my age, one would have to be a cockeyed optimist to even contemplate buying it.

Pale green. Whiff of iodine. Light, mineral, good acidity but not a lot beyond that.
