{cork,14.5%} Deep ruby. Red, still quite youthful nose of dark chocolate, liquorice, blackberries. Medium/full-bodied, not overdone, with plenty of ripe fruit flavours, medium fine dusty tannins, medium acidity and still retains a freshness almost belying its age. Great ripe, black sense without being coarse or too hot.
{cork} This was light/medium-bodied, with a smidgen of pale yellow/green colour, and classic mosel apple flavours on the palate. Nicely dry, and with softly medium balanced acid, it’s wonderfully drinkable without being especially complex. Tidy little effort.
{cork, 12.5%, AP 08 16} Gentle woody notes, oak, but not new oak, along with some sour cherry and dried leaf flavours. It’s not so much tart as grainy and drying, but with cranberry/cherry and sour berry fruit flavours. Medium weight and ripe. Drink up.
Savoury and even a bit peppery, with medium powdery tannins and understated fruit. Just medium-bodied. Not trerribly generous with flavour; rather more like a chianti than a fleshy rioja. Shortish finish.
Mid-yellow – right for age (and cork!) Lush, developed lemon and peach flavours, with soft medium acidity. Dry, medium weight, with yellowing flavours of custard and citrus. Medium length finish. OK.
