Some interesting barolos from today:
2013 Agricola Brandini Barolo Resa 56
2013 Mirafior Barolo Paiagallo
The Giacomo Borgogno was a treat to try, but not showing as well as I would have liked today. Just really young and still closed.
The Donnafugata Mille a Una Notte - Nero D'avola blend was excellent. A world-class wine.
Not much Nero Mascalese here, but the few that I tried were solid if unexceptional. Still lovely table wines.
Amarone is always a rare treat, but it is hard to buy much and harder still to pair with a regular meal. Not really a great table wine.
2010 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva 91 Points

Pale ruby, aromatic even with a small pour, red fruit; palate is light, high tannin, but drinkable, high acid; long finish. Young but good. 91-92

From a single vineyard in La Morra. Lovely aromatics, tarry red fruit; palate is light, juicy red fruit, but also has richness and density. Really drinking well 92++
