Like a good Bordeaux. Drunk parallel to 81 Latour, 89 Mouton and it did not fell out of the range. Very good tannin structure, fruit and length. Far away from its peak. Give it 5+ years. 93+

  • 1983 Bischöfliches Priesterseminar Trier Wiltinger Kupp Riesling Spätlese 92 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Perfectly matured Riesling at its peak. It accompanioned the barbecued pork really great. All other guys at this evening were suprised about this great match of mature Riesling and rather strong meat. Drink up.

  • 1970 Graf zu Hoensbroech Wiltinger Braunfels Riesling Auslese Eiswein

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Like my last bottle. Certainly not a perfect bottle, even though fill level and cork were perfect. Nose with a lot of mature notes. On the palate quite interesting with lots of malt, smoke and speck. Drinkable. but certainly not what was originally intended :) NR

  • 1989 Château Mouton Rothschild 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Complex and quiet intense nose with Tobacco, leather, pencil shavings, cassis , spices and a little floral perfume. Still very closed and not fully developed.
On the palate a perfect, but still undeveloped tannin structure. Silky texture, lots of complex flavors, spices, red and dark fruit. Very good balance, lots of pressure and tension. Already great to drink, but it screams to me with every sip: Let me sleep at least for another decade! Great experience though! Great potential: 95++

  • 2003 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett 92 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Pale, lemon-golden color. Beautiful nose with lots of slate which makes it easy to detect this wine as a Saar Riesling. Off-dry, wonderful notes of brown slate. Lacks a bit of acidity which is vintage specific. Medium+ intensity and finish. Perfect harmony and balance. Unlike my first note, I guess this wine has a bright and great future ahead, even if the acidity is not as racy as in other vintages. Egon Müller is Egon Müller is Egon Mülller. There is no better, full stop! 92++

  • 1976 Von Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Riesling Auslese Nr. 58 96 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

What should I say other than: Thank you Jens for this great bottle! This might not be the most expressive Abtsberg Auslese, but you can feel right from the first sniff: This is Grünhaus at its best! Typical Grünhaus flavors in nose and palate. No (or very few) signs of botrytis, still very good acidity structure for this rather warm vintage. Perfect harmony and balance, nothing felt apart. Silky, complex on the palate and pure joy to drink. Long, almost everlasting and very elegant finish. Abtsberg at its peak! A great pleasure to taste! Drink now or within the next 10+ years. 96-97

  • 2017 Weingut Brand Jung Frauen MILF Vin Brutalement 81 Points

    Germany, Pfalz

Well, what can I say. Looks like unfiltered rhubarb juice. Tastes like… Ok, lets remain silent about the taste. Yes, it is drinkable, especially on a warm summer evening. And for lovers of natural wine maybe it is worth around the 14 EUR that it originally costs. But it makes no fun to me! We tasted it with 10 experienced wine drinkers and several of them spit it out in disgust. Do I need to say more? Could not stand the hype around this bottling. 81-82
