  • 1991 Vecchie Terre di Montefili Anfiteatro 83 Points

    Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT

    Bright garnet red, with orange rim.
    Tertiary notes at nose: mushrooms, humus, but also cooked plums and coffee.
    Nice at taste, rounded, well balanced, with smooth tannins and still a good acidity. Mineral. Very good for its age, but lacking some structure.

  • 2016 Castellare di Castellina Chianti Classico 85 Points

    Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG

    Intense purple red.
    Intense at nose. Ripe red fruits, plums, red oranges. Some floreal iris and spices: curry. Grafite.
    Nice at taste, velvety. with a good acidity and a tamed tannin. Well balanced, with fruit and coffee hints to the closing. Medium persistence.

    Vivid ruby red.
    Complex and intense at nose: red fruits and flowers and spices (coffee). Very nice
    Full, smooth mouth. Complex and persistent. Alcohol is well balanced with acidity and minerality. Mineral, almondy ending.

  • 2015 L'Erta di Radda Due & Due Toscana IGT 85 Points

    Ruby red.
    At nose, more spices than fruit. Alcohol a bit esuberant.
    Smooth at taste, velvety with fruit hints , then alcohol note coming out. Not very complex, but "straight". Mineral ending. Old style Chianti, with some white grapes.

    Ruby red. Consistent.
    Powerful, complex and elegant at nose: red fruits and flowers, spicy and balsamic with juniper and laurus.
    Full smooth mouth. Fruity, with sweet spices (vanilla) coming out; good minerality; armonic ensemble. Velvety tannins. Vanilla ending.

    Coffee and tobacco hints over red fruits at nose.
    Smooth taste, not "chewy", but with a good structure. More minerality than acidity to the closing. Very nice.
