Tasting as every year at the Domaine Baudry, this time with Mathieu Baudry: Tasting over 2 hours of the 2017 vintage with some older stuff at the end.
A first look on 2018, which is a monster vintage in Chinon in view of the concentration and power.
2017 is a sunny, quite rich year, with very pleasant wines, which will not need long years to be ready for consumption. Pleasant wine in line perhaps with 2009.
The pure class of la Croix Boissée is obvious, effortless ageing, the typicity of the terroir is visible in each vintage.
Thanks a lot to Mathieu and Bernard Baudry for their great hospitality.
2018 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Granges
France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Chinon
Extremly rich entry of the range, sour cherries, strawberries, dense, far above the usual level in terms of power and density.
