Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • NV Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuis 88 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru

Solid champagne of good quality. A touch herbal with just a bit of citrus, as well as an interesting bit of salinity. Not overly complex but easy to drink.

  • 2014 Domaine des Tours Vaucluse 90 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vaucluse

It's what all the natural wine folks are drinking these days, but good. Super intense strawberry and white pepper, with a slight hint of florals as well. The palate is juicy but there's a bit of backwards grainy tannin. Pleasant to drink now, and certainly not one for aging.

  • 2002 Chateau Musar 90 Points

    Lebanon, Bekaa Valley

A touch backwards, but it's certainly not clamped down or unready to drink. The nose shows only a slight hint of the Musar funk, as well as some nascent secondary bordelais elements. The palate is fairly clean too, with a little bit of tannin that's not obtrusive.
