Michel Decotte is a small récoltant-coopérateur in Mailly, with 3.6 ha of vineyards. This is his basic champagne, made with 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. Juicy and forward, ripe apple and a touch of citrus, hint of hazelnut, highish dosage is well integrated, soft but not too fuzzy, an easy but pleasant aperitif.
Wonderfully pure and creamy fruit, juicy and supple style, flowers and cherries, warm spices and a touch of black pepper, violets and peach, fresh and silky with light tannins, lovely length. Harmonious and delicious already, with lots of upside.
