Number 3462. So creamy, vanilla, red dates, orange rind, lemon, citrus, toasted wheat, toffee, hazelnut. High but sublime acidity, very uniform, characteristic to Krug's this vintage. Can feel a bit of tannin. Great today, should age a lot more to soften up. 95-96
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Served blind. Lemon peel, popcorn, sesame, flint, toasted hazelnut, peach. Rich, creamy, high acidity, very lifted. Broad palate is incredibly precise and energetic. Superb length, so pure; kinda faultless. Coche Meursault Genevieves 2007? Haven't tasted 2010 in a while and this has turned out great. 96-97+
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru
Premox again! Served blind. Honeyed, caramel, candied fruit, good acidity. There is the richness characteristic to Ramonet. Can feel the hot vintage, balanced and mellow. Ramonet Montrachet 1999? Where is that Ramonet electricity? Should have been 95-96 points easily.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Served blind. Dark florals, blue fruit, toasted spice, reminds me of Les Brûlées, broiled profile. Strawberry, brown sugar, vanilla, creamy spice, rose petal. Great clarity. Must say this is similarity tight and dark as the 96 Chambertin. CSJ is a lot more open for business. 94
