2020 Sojourn Chardonnay Sangiacomo Vineyard
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
(2/21/2022)
Some matchstick (not to be confused with potential smoke taint) and high acidity. Will need some time.

2019 Sojourn Chardonnay Durell Vineyard
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
(2/21/2022)
Tasted after the 2020 Sangiacomo Chardonnay -- this one has a similar matchbook character, and the same high acidity, but is a bit richer, more approachable.

2019 Sojourn Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard Sonoma Coast
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
(2/21/2022)
By far, my favorite of the Sojourn chardonnays we tried: More balance, and an overt lime-peach flavor. This is a little pricier, but worth the slight premium. Drinkable now but should improve.

2020 Sojourn Pinot Noir Sangiacomo Vineyard
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
(2/21/2022)
Sojourn is one of the few Sonoma producers to have bottled a range of 2020 reds. Obviously, there is a long-term risk of smoke taint, but we didn't detect anything in this tasting. This wine was surprisingly easy to drink, with no sweetness, and structured cherry fruit.

2020 Sojourn Pinot Noir Walala Vineyard Sonoma Coast
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
(2/21/2022)
This was my wife's clear favorite among the reds (and, in principle, she doesn't even like Pinot Noir). More acidic than the Sangiacomo, with a similar dry cherry flavor, and a tinge of bitterness. For early drinking, despite the acidity.

2020 Sojourn Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard Sonoma Coast
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
(2/21/2022)
This was the richest of the Sojourn pinots, with a bit more sweetness, but we still preferred the structure of the Walala.

2019 Sojourn Cabernet Sauvignon Cuvée Home Ranch
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley
(2/21/2022)
This has low tannin, moderate acidity, and an unusual spicy profile, with a flavor of chocolate. Nice balance, and easy to drink.

2019 Sojourn Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard
USA, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford
(2/21/2022)
Super-cherry, very rich and full. It might be a relative bargain among Beckstoffer cabs, but still too pricey for us.
