Really identical to the bottle from the tasting. Complex and layered, this came across as a Cabernet-driven blend, seeming to show some leather, horsey notes, and meaty spice along with rich black plum and cherry. A dead ringer for a good vintage of Pichon Lalande from this same era.
This had been opened 4 hours earlier and given a quick double decant. This never fully opened up, still just hinting at its full potential, but there was a considerable amount of power and concentration. Aromas never really provided much pleasure, but the substance is there, while the palate gave us greater hints of possibility. Better 2030 forward.
Firm when first opened, but an hour in a decanter worked miracles. Black currant and cassis with very good concentration. Clean for Montrose, this was wonderfully balanced, even while still a bit firm.
2014 Fernand & Laurent Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Grandes Ruchottes 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Bright orchard fruit aromas and flavors with very good energy, ending with a minerally, lemony note. Very good length, very good now.

1977 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon S.L.V. Flawed
USA, California, Napa Valley, Stags Leap District
One of the most brilliant wines from the tasting, but this bottle was sadly slightly corked.

1990 Château Batailley 90 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Exactly as you would hope. Ripe, fleshy and fun with cigarbox and roasted meat. Not supe complex, but so easy to enjoy right now.
