France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Light tertiary aromas of fungi and mushroom. Elegant wine with restraint, touch cheese notes, fair acidity, but all rather lacking much weight or depth. Fairly complex, , seems a bit lean, touch of oxygen ingress leading to a phenolic finish
Lemon-straw in colour, fairly intesne aromas with white peach. A rather nery acidity, ripe fruits, rather medium acdiity wit a warm glycerol sweet note giving fatness. Some oak toasty. Fair, It grew on me.
Deep yellow-gold, planky workshop wood notes. Quite aromtic with aniseed, mineral or rock dust. Racy acidity with delineated edges, elegant and very approachable. Very nice.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Deep yellow-gold, aromas of boiled sweet, fungi, oak and hint of oxidation. Rich entry with damp earth, underlying oatmeal lees texture, washed stone, Mineral, fair example, Feels a little compromised.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet
Deep yellow-gold, expressive bouquet of crushed nuts, toast, barley sugar and macadamia. Medium bodied, this serems more of the classic nuttyiness of Meursault yet this P-M has a crisp acidity, elegance, and tightness to be more appropriately Puliugny. Well balanced there is apple and pear fruits running to a long length.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Light and brght cherry-red colour. Aromatic nose with ripe red plum, wood toast and cherry. A lighter bodied wine with elegnce, well balanced with lively acidity, freshnes, and lift through to a long finish. Tight tannins, still nees time to integrate ewith a barnyard note that lifts later. A lithe wine for Gevrey but very enjoyable.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
An aroamtic bouquet that is earthy with elements of forest fruits yetas the wine opens a touch of VA. Initial entry is pure and focussed with elegance, extreme intensity and super long finish. The Va seems to blow off somewhat and it finishes long but with a firmness and bite to the tannin.
Light red to an orange rim. Aromas of strawberry, tilled earth and red cherry greet the nose. A crisp acdiity on entry with intense flavours of sweet ripe fruits. Tinned Bing cherries, super ripe strawberry all lead ot a soft yet noted tannin - it envelopes you. But works with the fruit. Lacks a little mid-palate.
Deep red to core. Intensly aromatic perfumed with oak toasty notes, red fruits and wet chalk. Youthul and vibrant, this mid-boied wine has a lively acdiity, powerful mid-palate with chesy plum skin tannins. Long with a warm, glycerol finish and more toasty notes. Feels delicous but a crowd-pleaser.
