My contribution. Said 2015 on the cork so not actually sure which vintage was this. Blend of two parcels, one from marl soils and the other from limestone. Aged in concrete eggs before blended in tank. Ripe yellow fruit, the acidity has faded as noted by a previous reviewer. Texturally quite round and weighty with a lovely saline finish. Intellectual sort of wine that is not immediately pleasurable, think the others were in two minds about this but I enjoyed this a lot.
Rather green and herbal on both the nose and the palate so guessed this to be a Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate this was lean without any fat at all, had a nice tensile quality but came across as a little dilute to me. Not the most balanced wine.
Clearly not a champagne so I went for Cava, very interesting wine. Colour was definitely not rosé-like at all, oak use was evident on the nose and not quite integrated. Made in an oxidative style, I liked the nose more than the palate which came across as rather bland and stiff with one-dimensional red berries.
Jammy, bubble gummy nose with some noticeable VA. Pale red in colour with lots of sediment. Pretty, airy red fruit without much structure, delicate, food-friendly wine. Someone said this reminded her of l'Anglore which was a pretty good guess. Still very much prefer Jura whites to reds.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
Was quite sure that this was a new-world Pinot with the candied, red cherry nose. Some spiciness and quite a plodding wine, but at least the tannins were delicate for NSG. Overall rather overdone in this hot vintage.
My contribution. Seemed a little advanced at first with soy notes but got better with air. Good example of a staunchly traditional Barolo without any excessive oak. Elegant dark red fruit, tannins are still prominent but definitely approachable now
Always tough to guess a Musar but also always fun to see how it develops in the glass. Thought northern Rhone at first with blue, savoury fruit but with time in the glass the tertiary notes of mushroom reminded me of a Bordeaux. Once a clue was given that this was not French or Italian it was obvious that this was a Musar. Quite developed, tea-like tannins were fully resolved so drink up.
Rather cloudy and advanced, tannins were fully resolved so I guessed this to be from the early 2000s. Sweet and sour cherry fruit which seemed a little underripe. Haven't been impressed with this producer on the couple of occasions that I have tried it.
Quite interesting to try a NZ Sauvignon Blanc with some age. Very green on the nose with some petroleum notes. Grassy tropical fruit with some straw notes and oiliness on the palate.

Made in a new-world style with buttery hazelnut notes that I am not a fan of. Alcohol was quite prominent, contributing to a coarse texture.
