Double decanted off 2oz sediment. Pale ruby, age-appropriate slight bricking; medium-intensity aromatics with red cherry and strawberry fruit, spices; palate is light bodied, excellent balanced fruit, medium-plus acidity, low (11%!) alcohol, low tannin; finish is medium to medium-plus length and clean. A well balanced and still quite youthful red burgundy, drinks well even tonight but will easily improve for another 5+ years. 92-93 2 hours in bottle: more aromatic, pretty, food friendly wine. I’m a big fan. In comparison to the Fourrier, this has a similar red fruitedness bht obviously doesn’t compete in depth or complexity. Still a lovely food wine for the price.
Golden; aromatic, rich and round bodied for Chablis, a bit buttery and nutty but with freshness; palate is full bodied, white fruits, medium alcohol, medium acidity; finish is medium length. Very solid white burgundy, good age and a bit rich for Chablis but I don’t mind. 90-91

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Light ruby, youthful color; high intensity aromatics, red fruited, floral, nice spice, excellent aromatic complexity; palate is light bodied, red fruited, notably high acidity, balanced low-med alcohol, lovely youthful red fruits; finish is medium-long. This is a star in exactly the style I like: vibrant, high acidity, full of intensity. 94-95+
