Blindtasting of 7 great favorites of our winestore supplier in Mallorca.
Our blindguess was Chardonnay (from Bourgogne or Santa Barbara county)! But it definitely was not. Very atypical but in a good sense. Flavours of peach, lemon, toast. High acidity (but not crescendo acidity which I typically find in Chenin Blanc), Medium alcohol and M+ body. M finish. Until now I have not found Chenin Blanc charming. That has changed. My best experience with Chenin Blanc so far. Excellent wine

A quite expensive micro domaine. I did not quite get the style. A little strange for me, both Savoury and fruity...? However the classical pepper note was detected. High acidity, high alcohol, full body and high intensity.

Blind guess was Ribera del Duero because of the following notes: High acidity, high+ tannin, high alcohol and full body. Vanilla note from Oak. My guess is that it is too youthful right now.

What a wine! Deep ruby. Black fruit, green bell pepper, cedar, tobacco, chocolate. High acidity, high tannin, high alcohol, full body, pronounced intensity and a very long finish. Classical, could only be Bordeaux left bank Pauillac, and so it was. Without doubt an outstanding wine at a good ageing level right now. I really like that development level: Still lots of fruit but also appropriate tertiary notes. 96+
