APPEARANCE: Medium deep gold colour.
NOSE: Mature Riesling; petroleum, wet slate, sweet lemon, kumquat, beeswax, sweet almond paste. (89p)
TASTE: Mature, off dry Riesling, really in between the floral, elegant Rieslings of the Mosel and the racy, steely acidity and backbone of the Rheingau Rieslings. Perfectly mature now. Medium light body. Perhaps slightly weak in the mid taste. (87p)
OVERALL: Total score 88 (ordinary) points, but 89 drinking pleasure points.

Medium gold colour.
Nose: Mature Riesling notes of sweet lemon and petroleum. Wet slate, ripe peaches, orange water. (89p)
Taste: The arrival is off dry to semi sweet, soft, rounded. The mid palate presents ripe fruitiness, some sweet lemon acidity and wet stone minerality. The body is medium to medium light. The exit is pleasantly semi sweet and fruity and nicely balanced by a moderate but well balancing acidity. This lasts into the aftertaste, which is medium long and also introduces a soft fruit stone bitterness. (87p)
All in all a 14 year old, mature, very drinkable Riesling QbA (bought at a bargain price), boxing above its weight class. Total score: 88 points.
It seems to have the prospect of staying alive and drinking well for several more years to come (drink 2007-2021).

Lovely yellow colour.
Nose: Mature Riesling nose with elegant petroleum notes, sweet citrus, some tropical fruit, slate minerality and a rich, flowery perfume. With some time in the glass sweet almonds and marzipan appear. (89p)
Taste: Rather light bodied but elegant, racy and long. Lots of minerality, coated in mature sweet citrus fruits and the residing residual sugar. There is a slight hollowness on the mid-palate indicating to me that it might be a wine to drink soner rather than later. Not very complex but an elegant, well structured and well made wine. (88p)
Very good basic Riesling from a very good producer. Like many good Nahe wines it combines the best from the Mosel and the Rheingau.

Light golden.
Nose initially mainly with citrus and minerals. With air opens up, displaying almond, peach stone, some marzipan and even a little petroleum "firne". And more minerality.
Clean, fresh, light, slightly off dry. Nice fruit. Very well balanced.
Went very well with slightly spicy coconut & cod soup.
Drinks well now, but appearing younger than it's 10 years. Will develop / mature for several years and last for another decade or two. I'd drink it within the next 6-10 years though.

Flaskedata: Høstet 27. oktober 1989, Mostvekt 124 gr oechsle, alkohol 16,6% (!!), restsukker 5,2 g/l, vinsyre 7,1 g/l, tørrstoff 48,7 g/l.
Flaskstørrelse 0,5 liter.
Farge: Rødbrun, mot brun, nesten tefarget.
Duft: Den lever!
