One off glass before dinner. Lighter body red Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Tempranillo blend. Malbec is dominating everything at the moment, needs a few years for the parts to integrate. Nose of green coffee beans, cola and red cherry. Palate was a bit herbal with sour cherry. Not overly complex but easy drinking.

5/8/2024 - JorgePrlta Likes this wine: 84 points

Displaying a high intensity golden hue, this wine reveals itself with presence.

The nose offers a low aromatic intensity, with subtle notes of apple and pineapple intertwined with a honey-like character and evident fermentation notes.

On the palate, mature fruit flavors emerge, with pineapple resembling jam, while fermentation notes persist. The oak presence is evident but not overpowering, adding depth without being intrusive.

Balanced with medium acidity, medium body, and medium alcohol, the wine finishes with a satisfying medium length.

This marks a notable advancement for the winemaker, suggesting potential for the region

2023 CUATRO SIERRAS Touriga Nacional

5/8/2024 - JorgePrlta Likes this wine: 83 points

Showing a high-intensity raspberry pink color, this wine is hard to miss.

On the nose, medium-intensity aromas offer ripe red apple, fresh, slightly underripe red fruit, and hints of peach syrup, all with a touch of green herbal notes.

The palate echoes ripe red apple flavors, with the red fruit resembling strawberry or cranberry juice.

Balanced with medium acidity, medium-low alcohol, and a light body, it finishes quickly but pleasantly.

Overall, it's a commendable step forward for this winemaker

5/6/2024 - Neecies Likes this wine: NR

Cloudy straw yellow color; a blend of chardonnay, sauv blanc, columbard, marsanne and viognier from a vineyard at 2000 ft elevation that used to be a bird sanctuary and as such has soil nutrients unlike anything in the surrounding area. Unfiltered with extended skin contact, it offers intriguing lavender, apple and white grapefruit notes with a slightly waxy texture. Alcohol only 12%. I was so enchanted I bought several. $30 retail.

In-store tasting. 40% malbec and 30% each cabernet and syrah. Medium red fruit about which I mysteriously only noted "not floral or candied" which apparently came from my general aversion to Malbec. I didn't write anything else, but I did buy a bottle so that's a compliment in itself.

5/4/2024 - AlphaMikeFoxtrot Does not like this wine: 73 points

70% Chardonnay, 30% SB

Smells extremely alcoholic and oaky, almost as strong as a spirit. That masks most of the fruit - a bit of lemon peel and under ripe white peach. Even the secondary aromas (fresh cedar wood mostly) are masked by the alcohol burn. A bit better on the palate, with lemon juice and green bell pepper; but still feels hot. Even without the boozy mask, it'd just be simple.

Medium body with medium acid. Unimpressive.
