Huge wine with massive fruit and alcohol. Complex spice, earth and fruit but for me overwhelmed by alcohol. Passed up on the '15s as a result of this wine. I live in Paso Robles, we get these big wines locally and I look to old world for elegance. This delivers opulence. No thanks. I don't see how these would age.

I expect that if I'm complaining of alcohol in '12, '15 will be no different. At the end of the day I just don't think I'm a fan of what Royer is doing with the Prestige. I tend to love the Tradition and Le Petit Roy however.

Medium weight wine; a bit dusty with freshness lost from the fruit at this point. Drinking ok but has yet to develop significant tertiary characters.

Yes, indeed the '14s are pretty great at Tablas Creek. I have tried the '14 Tannat in the tasting room and have a couple resting. It was again very approachable for a Tannat with an immediate drinkability. Actually the ABV is 13.6% on the '14, lower than the past few vintages. Gotta love Tablas!

I so happened to have tried today the `10 Tannat that a friend brought over. This time it received plenty of air. It still showed very fresh with plenty of acid over a smokey cigar ash character. There's lots of life in this wine with every sip surprising with something new.
