Nice assertive cherry with some darker fruits and some oak. Good concentration. An excellent QPR and really a step up from other popular inexpensive cabs such as Avalon.

Very Cabernet flavors, with a fair amount of tannins. But, once wine breathes for awhile, it mellows outs. Nice wine.

Very full, bursts with flavor. The black cherry practically explodes in your mouth when you drink this stuff. Also has hints of spice in it, somewhat peppery.

Decanted 1 hour and consumed over 6 hours. Best between hours 3 – 5.
Head to head against the ’08 Dunham, Trutina (93 pts). Whereas the Dunham was an intensely concentrated berry-cobbler fruit bomb, the Dionysis was a little softer on the nose, but had a little more earthy/terroir sophistication. Based on my experience with the ’97 Dionysis, I know for a fact that this juice responds well to age. This one just needs some time to see its true potential; with a likely peak window between 2016 – 2021. 92 pts now but with a possible 93 – 95 pt future.

I think this was one of the first few CFs for the new wine maker. Think I'm more a fan of the old one. The new style is more of a drink sooner wine than before. Lots of acetone/isopropyl alcohol hiding the nice blue fruits still kicking.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry & mocha. It tastes like blackberry and cherry. Light tannins & The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long with a cherry note. The wine has medium acidity. Pleasant surprise for price!

Slightly musty oak on the front end mars an otherwise enjoyable wine. Would think it was slightly corked but the flavor was the same in bottles from different sources. Very nice black cherry on the midpalate and a moderate finish.

Sourced from the esteemed Dionysus Vineyard, this straw-colored wine offers aromas and flavors of stone and tropical fruits, citrus, honey and pine nuts. Light-bodied, freshly acidic, unoaked and with a very light touch of sweetness, it stays solid on the middle palate and throws no heat from its paltry 12.5% alcohol. Medium in length and crisp on the back end, this is a delightful Riesling that would be an excellent partner to Asian food. Drink now-2023.

This is a very solid, full bodied, hearty, nicely complex blend with good dark fruit, spice, cherry, earth. Very nice nose and delightfully lingering finish. I liked it a lot and a great value from a steady vintner in the Spokane area. Their signature facility for which this wine is names overlooks a beautiful setting of the Spokane River. Sadly, it burned last summer, so this perhaps this should be called Smoke House Red hereafter!

White Bluffs AVA. Blackberries, black cherries, red cherries, plum, earth, and herbs on the palate. Black cherries, tart cherries, plum, earth, and herbs on the palate. Lots of fruit, but comes across fairly savory. Nice acidity, grippy tannins, med-long finish. Overall, this was a tasty and well-balanced bottle. I wish I had another bottle.

2005 Arbor Crest Sauvignon Blanc Bacchus Vineyard

Columbia Valley more

2/10/2009 - icrworldnu wrote: 88 points

The Sauvignon Blanc is a product produced solely from the Bacchus Vineyard in the Columbia Valley. The deep sandy soils and mature vines allow the grapes to yield polished flavors that are fresh and lively with enticing grapefruit, pineapple and spicy characters that unfold nicely on the smooth finish. To preserve the varietal qualities of Sauvignon Blanc, this wine did not undergo malolactic fermentation or spend time in oak. The melon ball-scented Sauvignon Blanc, an excellent value, is medium-bodied, oily-textured, and seamless. Ripe pears, nuts, and honeydew melons are found in its expressive character. Tart and tangy, with grapefruit peel and green pear flavors, finishing with some suppleness.

Decanted about 1 hour. Deep, dark fruit with a hearty finish. The wine was a little funky on the nose but the flavor was excellent. Set up wine before a cab and rib-eye pairing.
