I'm very pleasantly surprised by this chardonnay, that shows character well above any make up and oak. Straw yellow color with beautiful transparency and brilliancy. Just the right nose, if not maybe a bit shy, but just right, showing nice burgundian notes of soft peach and lavender. Very harmonious palate, showing not only very nice apple character, but then a whole array of nuances, namely barley, vanilla and flowerly flavors. Shows some structure, good length, constant fruit, and just a touch of creamy oak. Good lengthy finish. Very good QPR.

Starting to come into its own - color is nice for a merlot, the bouquet has fruit, blackberry and some cherry. Palate has nice structure and balance, again fruit, but not overly forward or large like a some napa vintages. Shows dark cherry, oakyness, with sweetness. The cola effect is becoming subdued and the finish suits this merlot, mid length with acidity. The acidity is slightly high, but may come down in the next year. Worth watching and waiting for in my opinion.

Cinnamon brick color; peppery blueberry and singed cedar nose; Nice mouthful of warm black fruit, mild tannins, white pepper, roasted poblanos, resinous blackberry liquor with a rush of alcohol at the 4 second mark. Long aftertaste. Definitely tasting well, perhaps at its peak?

A bit tight on opening up, had to let it sit in the glasses for about 30 min or so. Color was reasonable, a mix between ruby and purple, but not as much color as maybe a traditional merlot. The nose after it opened up showed dark fruit and some earthness. Palate had dark cherry and blackberry. The wine has integrated reasonably well, not overly hot with alcohol and it finishes nicely. Still slightly tart, and I don't think its going to get better with age, definitely a drink it now wine at this point.

Opening up pretty quickly now, poured and within 15min or so you felt like the wine was what is was going to be. Confirmed with the second glass poured about 45min later, no perceptible change to the wine, palate wise.

What a nice surprise this wine turned out to be, by exceeding my expectations. A bit tame on the color, ruby and purple, with the slightest of brickish rims, almost none. The nose is a mix of forest fruits and some truffle, and a little bacon fat; quite expressive altogether. Enters the palate with very good character and expression, showing quality fruit, blueberry and blackberry; a bit of strawberry jam in the mid-palate. It evolves toward some of that truffle, kalamata olive tapanade, wild cherry and green peppercorn to finish with a nice 30 second persistence. Flaws: it is young, and it has an ever present alcohol flavor that makes it a little bit disjointed, and definitely hot and non-harmonious. I don't think that this wine has enough backbone to get better in the bottle over time. The moment to drink it is now, when the fruit is vibrant and forward. I had it with pizza, and it makes a very, very good pizza wine; although it has very good Merlot character, does shows a little bit like gamay.

Certainly a young wine... better with some proper aeration. We let it sit for an hour and it mellowed out a bit. Not sure how it will behave with aging but plan to keep one for a long term test. The others should be gone shortly -- good for the price.

Dark red/garnet; spicy pine forest scents, some wet granite and cola also in the nose. Taste explodes with fruit: ripe red and black berries, plum, cedar, juniper. Very well balanced, a bit volatile, long lingering AT. Drinking superbly right now, will improve over the next few years. Paid less than $10, drinks like a good $20 everyday Cab. Well worth the purchase.

Crimson red, where you can almost, barely see your fingers through the glass. Expressive nose, very barnyardy, I smell hay, sage, some blueberry, and barnyard. Deep dark flavors, medium to full body but also showing some texture, good structure all along, strong evolution towards the end and the finish. If I had to single out a fruit here, it would be blueberry again, but the finish is loaded with green pepper, cummin, and tobacco. Not a lot of excitement in this wine. A little bit hot.

My previous ranking were probably too high and more focused on value at this price. Lots of vanilla and blackberry in this. At first sip, there is alot of mineral that eventually fades after being opened. A little hot too. But t this price I will continue to buy for a cheap cab.

slightly tropical nose, can pick up a buttery smell as well.
Starts off with a fruity but not overpowering taste, mid kinda tastes...like a dessert, maybe cake for some reason, finishes rather smoothly.

Upon first opening, the mid/finish tastes burnt, it is very unappealing, but after about 10 minutes in glass it seems to go away.

Might be shocked or too young, or whatever excuse, but last night's bottle tasted horribly herbaceous with a strong current of raw green pepper running through it. Tasted even cheaper than paid for on woot, and might be the first bottle from there in a while that I've actually been disappointed with.
