2/28/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 98 pointsFresh lemon with floral scent, goldilocks colour, orange, a bit of cool climate tropical fruit. Beautifully balanced with just right amount of oak! Long, with so much more coming through finish and readily accessible at this age! Ordered. |

2/28/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 95 pointsUGCB 2010 HK, Lots of complexity, fruits, berries with somewhat mild, comfortable tannins. Fine balance and smooth, but not yet silky. Quite accessible now but will be a complete wine with time although the subtle fruits suggest closure in the near future. A fine example of Pessac Leognan. |

2010 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de LalandePauillac Red Bordeaux Blend more |
2/28/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 95 pointsUGCB 2010 HK, waited 20 minutes in glass: Strong floral scents with a very nice black cherry colour, complex! Oaky, hints of mint, harmonius with a strong tannin in a decent finish. I don't drink much Pichon Lalande, but this owns the hallmark of a very classy paulliac. Stood out from the rest of the paulliac appellation at this tasting. |

2/21/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 93 pointsEx-Chateau. Had it several times past few months, popped and decanted for one hour+ and it was in full blown action. Another time we let it sit in bottle for 1.5+ hour and it was the same, with minimal bottle variation. |

2/28/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 93 pointsUGCB 2010 HK, Nice colour of blood, a bit darker. Flowers, berries, oaks in a nice soft way. Lightly balanced, well structured with smooth tannins that makes it suprisingly accessible at this stage. Long term storage will develop much more complexity. 93+ |

2/28/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 93 pointsUGCB 2010 HK, Did someone just put fireworks in my mouth? This is a monster wine. Just like a dinosaur breaking its shell, we cannot forsee how it may be. Huge nose, before you even bendover its already there. Flora/fauna, jams, tropic fruits, subtropic fruits, french fruits, some fruits. Huge tannins, big finish that produces fruitloops. |

3/4/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 92 pointsCitrusy, lemony, charred meat/complex nose with a nicely developing gold colour. Light minty cocoa, sweet lemon, white peach, gravely soil flavours and new oak with a high concentration of alcohol. But it is so nicely balance and integrated that the alcohol nor the oak stand out. Its like a flower in bloom, over 1 hour this wine evolves constantly! One can only imagine what a few more years down might yield. 92+ |

2/28/2013 - Monkey grapes Likes this wine: 90 pointsUGCB 2010 HK, Beautiful ruby colour. Floral, with bits of coffee scents. Honey, jammy, balanced with some fruits but not much oak here. Decent structure, tannins and finish which made it very accessible now. Certainly will develop with cellaring, but not too much. 90-92. |
