The fruit was slightly raisined, perhaps from the outset or perhaps from the time in bottle, who knows. If this bottle is indicative, though, drink up. You wouldn't want this to be more oxidized than it was. |

Not worth drinking second night. Not sure if I was high at the tasting or if I'm going to have huge bottle variation. |

9/4/2015 - DKHaus Likes this wine: NRPNP at room temp. Wine is deep purple, nearly black in the glass with slight sediment. Do not recommend aeration. Nose has dark fruits, black berries, raspberry jam, some plums and a hint of tobacco. Initially a lot of acid smelling the bottle but didn't get any in the glass. Palate is very well integrated, dry, full bodied with a bit of tart cherries, dark berries, and a hint of ripe strawberries and a little spice. Tannins are very present but round and smooth with just the right amount of acid. Medium long finish. Overall, very fruity wine but delicious and we'll put together. Drinking excellently right now. |
