Tasting room visit. Found this to be the equivelent of the 2012 Caymus. Maybe these are brother or sister wines. Way over extracted fruit flavors. Disjointed and not coming together. Tasted from several different bottles and it was not from bottle variation. Actually, i could drink a bottle of 2012 Caymus but would have real problems with this wine. Just too much "in your face" mashed up flavors that nothing could be found of interest.

To say i am not a fan of this is an understatement.

So, I had to open one of these because I just ordered four more and wanted to validate the purchase. Man, this has got to be one of the best $65/$70 Napa cabs out there on the market today. Solid. PNP deep dark purple. Great fruit aroma but could still open up a bit. Wonderful on the palate and a decent finish.

Not sure what happened with this bottle but not as good as I had hoped for. Drank this beside the 2017 Quivet Kenifick Cab so maybe that impacted it.

I had to do it. Just had too. I am trying to decide what wine lists to cut and which to keep. Well, this one is a keeper. And somehow I am going to have to find a way to wish list extras.

PNP. should have decanted this as it actually started out very mild. I would have given this a 90 if I had not drank the wine over three to four hours. By the third hour though this was soooooo nice. Great fruit profile. Black, blue and red fruits where the blues do not dominate or take over. Dusty, maybe mineral like. I love that about this wine. That dusty component actually increased over time. Dark relish purple in color, great looker.

I am a fan. I will also say that I would wait on opening these but if you do, absolutely let it breath for a few hours.

Do NOT open this wine yet.

I only did it because i hadnt had a Becklyn yet. This is my first. I stuffed the cork back into the bottle and will try it again tomorrow. But great aroma/nose. On the palatte it is a bit muted but coming around after one hour. Good tannins.

Hold off on this wine.

Hot. Very hot. Poped and poured. Over a half hour the alcohol burned off. Decanting this for longer than an hour would be unnecesary in my opinion. Fruit rich and wonderful with a very complete and rounded finish.

I gave the previous two bottles an 89 but three months later and it has gone up one point. Wish i had a few more of these to try in about six to twelve months.
