Color: Garnet with ruby edges
Nose: Very tight and even after an hour open leather, meat and jammy cassis notes are very light
Flavor: Robust blackberry and cassis, jammy with pepper notes - very good
Mouthfeel: full, thick, dense and chewy

Solid blend from the Jumilla DO, especially at the price point. this blend is Monastrell 40%, Syrah 30%, Tempranillo 30% and you do get the pepperiness of the Syrah and the meaty, jamminess of the Monastrell.

Excellent value for this Spanish red. Great start with ripe, lush fruit that opens with complex variety. Smooth, elegant finish.

Nice QPR wine. Ripe fruit, charry/spicy oak especially on the nose, a small bit of raisined fruit detectable on the nose and palate but otherwise clean and relatively fresh.

Color: Purple/Black
Nose: Licorice, dark ripe fruit. Dense.
Palate: Rich, smooth, fruity. Some tartness with the right amount of fruit with the right amount of tannins. Well-balanced.
Finish: Very nice... chocolaty with a slight bitterness makes it interesting.
Eat with: Alone or with cheese, pizza, pasta. Probably great with steak, but that's too easy.
Final word: Would be worth it at twice it's price.

Deep color with some earthy characteristics and spicy complexity mixed in with layers of fruit. Solid wine.

Similar to previous note. Today I'm getting some strawberry on the nose. Still dense. Tannins seem a little stronger, but not overpowering. Good chocolate on the long finish.

Nose is open for business...black cherry, graphite and a bit of burnt earth (not necessarily in a bad way). Full bodied, with dark, sweet fruit, coffee and molassas. Finish defintely shows dark chocolate. Shows some of its' ETOH, but not so much that it is not enjoyable. Considering the $7 price tag, not a bad wine. Will see what it evolves into tomorrow.

Simpler flavor profile, bitter tannins, fruit flavors, with no green, little midp, but cherry on short finish

Dark bloody-red with a brick rim. Syrah and Monastrell are very evident on the nose, full of smoky bacon, burned yeasty toast, tar, sweet cherries and licorice. For $7 this wine does not lack olfatory complexity, exhibits a considerable amount of Jumilla terroir and although there is palpable heat, given the source, we can probably ignore its hints of alcohol. Enjoy it with good company and something hearty.

Not a bad wine. First experience with this Spanish appellation. Hints of Strawberry on the nose and ripe fruit on the pallet to begin. As it opened, there was a fair amount of heat from the alcohol and surprisingly the nose nearly disappeared all together. Can't say I would buy it again.

Opaque deep garnet. Black cherry, spice box- a great nose. Mid weight mouthfeel. Tannins winning the war vs. acidity. Decent finish.

TB: Recommended by the wine merchant where we picked up our Valentine's Day dinner. Opened and decanted for an hour and a half before trying. Very dark, inky purple in color without much color change towards the edges of the glass. Immensely complex nose, showing plum, black pepper, a floral component, some green olives, and a hint of ginger throughout the night. Palate showed plum and black pepper. This is a thick, heavy bodied wine that got better and more intriguing as the night went on. Nice tannic kick, slight acidity, but overall everything was in very nice balance. There was a long finish on this wine to top off each sip. Highly recommended, and we'll be going back for more of this wine.

Phenomenal wine. I would definitely decant or otherwise air it for at least an hour before drinking it. Floral at one sip, peppery at the next, spicy thereafter - this wine kept changing and revealing more of itself over the evening. Thoroughly enjoyable from the first taste to the last. I guarantee you'll not be disappointed as long as you air it. Very different from most wines as well - but in a good way.

Full-Bodied wine with a dark fruit nose with some heat, on the palate there is no heat but a chewy plum, blackberry, pepper and hints of mineral linger to a big fruit finish. Tannins are nice and rounded without decanting drink now!

Dark color of purple and an interesting nose showing ripe dark plum and a light smokiness on the edge...this is a full wine, but I fear this bottle may have had some heat and or handling issues as at mid palate the fruit structure got very port like and seemed to show some maderisation. Will have to try another bottle, as with previous notes, I have heard good things about this wine.

Very interesting wine with the 50% Petit Verdot... Very dark purple, black color that was absolutely mouth coating and teeth staining. Powerful nose of that is full of floral notes (violets, lilacs?), minerals, menthol, black fruits, blueberry and smokey spices. Full bodied on the attack with tons of dark fruits, smoke, peppery spice and firm, but well integrated tannins. Nice, long finish. Would have scored higher if not for some heat that was evident on the nose and palate (the heat did dissipate some after a couple hours so decanting would have helped), but still a very well made wine.
