8/6/2017 - ISOPinot Likes this wine: 89 pointsPurple to inky, despite being vertical for 48 hours before opening. Medium to slow legs. Aromas and flavors: think black. Blackberry, black currant, prune, raisins, black cherry. These were complimented by understated aromas that seem to evolve in layered/linear fashion: medium toast, coffee, chocolate, soy sauce and vanilla. Linear and polished texture. Body and finish medium; acidity low to medium. At $22, QPR is average. Because of its complexity, I believe it is a good value Paso Cab. Purchased at the winery in 2011. It seems we made a good choice. Drink now or in 2018. |

2/6/2009 - ctbob wrote: NRNo immediate rush, but I wouldn't wait forever, either -- it ain't goin' nowhere profound; it's a medium-extracted wine that's a little pruney but mostly in balance; the tell-tale Paso softness is there, but this has more mid-palate than most; serves a steak well, and it is certainly in its optimum drinking window |

Giants played like this tastes -- not bad, but not especially good either; restrained in style and price for a Paso red, which means it's only half as bad as most and only 50% over-priced. Ready. Soft but not too fleshy, slight black fruit on the palate. Would be great in sangria. |
