2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 90 pointsVery fruity and showy, this is definitely a drink now wine that has gobs and gobs of red and black fruits as well as notes of game, red spices and freshly tilled earth. |

2011 Château Sixtine Châteauneuf-du-PapeRed Rhone Blend more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis is dark, rich, serious and brooding with lots of plum sauce, dark, sweet spices and extracted fruit. Very full bodied and juicy and the finish is long and spicy. The best of the Chateau Sixtine wines in '11. |

2011 Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange Châteauneuf-du-PapeRed Rhone Blend more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 92 pointsMore classically styled than many of the other CdP, this shows dried fruit extracts, sweet spices, cinnamon, clove, Djarum cigarettes, graham crackers, blueberry, blackberry and currants. A new producer to me that I’m going to pay attention to. |

2011 Mas de Boislauzon Côtes du Rhône VillagesRed Rhone Blend more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 88 pointsSweet and spicy with plenty of primary red and black fruits and red and black pepper. This is perfectly good, not great, CdR that will provide plenty of drinking pleasure. |

2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 86 pointsI didn't find this wine to be nearly as exciting as nearly any of the other '11 CdPs that I've had. I found it to be overly primary and sweet, with basic red and black fruits. Sure, '11 isn't '09 or '10, but there are still better wines to be had than this. |

2011 Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs-GainChardonnay more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 91 pointsMy favorite wine of the 2011 Olivier Leflaive portfolio. Elegant and lively with pineapple, minerals, flint, apricot marmalade, ocean and salt. This has some QPR and should drink well soon upon release and for several years after. |

2011 Olivier Leflaive Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St. MarcChardonnay more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 87 pointsA disappointing vintage for this wine; one that I usually love. My first note was, "meh" followed by, "entry and basic". Simple white fruits with basic minerals, this is usually a wine of excitement and poise. Not so much. |

2011 Faiveley Mercurey Clos Rochette BlancChardonnay more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 88 pointsAnother wine that I regularly feel is a gateway drug to White Burgundy. This shows well beyond its modest price tag with flavors of peach, pear, apricot, almond, lychee and tart lemon rind. The acid is high and tart and the finish is medium in length. |

2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 88 pointsKind of weird, I certainly wouldn't have guessed that a) these guys would make this and b) that this is a Southern Rhone wine. Very fruity and ripe, my biggest gripe is that the Merlot dominates the palate and doesn't let the Grenache shine like it should. |

2011 Bosquet des Papes Côtes du RhôneRed Rhone Blend more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 90 pointsI thought this was excellent CdR and possesses great value for me. Very lovely wine with fresh lavender, soft fruit and an easy demeanor about it. The finish is long and the mouthfeel is round and caressing. |

2011 Domaine La Consonnière Châteauneuf-du-PapeRed Rhone Blend more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 88 pointsVery typical, if not the most exciting CdP of the year. Blackberry, blueberry and further blue fruits along with cooked fruit and compote. Perfectly Fine CdP. |

2011 Faiveley Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les DamodesPinot Noir more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 91 pointsA lighter style with more red fruits and jam, this is not nearly as soft, round or plush as the "Les Porets Saint-Georges". Wonderful acid and grip in the palate and the finish is elegant with red and some black fruits as well. |

2011 Faiveley Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Porêts Saint-GeorgesPinot Noir more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 91 pointsDark, full, juicy and more primary than many of the other 1er Crus, this shows lots of dried fruits, fruit cake, fatty game bird, and sweet spices. Very rich and full throttle, this is 60MPH out of the gate. |

2011 Faiveley Volnay 1er Cru SantenotsPinot Noir more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is why I love Volnay so much. Gorgeous complexity on the nose with lovely red fruits, marmalade and extract and the palate has great acid, grip and tannins. A lovely wine that has all of the fruit and subtle spice that I love. |

2011 Faiveley Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l'EcuPinot Noir more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 90 pointsI always like this wine, in great and not so great years alike. A dark and pungent wine this has a full bodied nose with plum juice, raisin, dark spice, heat and red pepper notes. |

2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: NREntirely shut down at this stage and very difficult to rate. All I really got was notes of expensive wood which was explosive on the nose and a touch of white fruit on the palate. Very big and hedonistic at this stage (something I saw a lot of in the '11 Grand Crus). It certainly has a future but it's very hard to know what it will show. |

2011 Olivier Leflaive Meursault 1er Cru Les PoruzotsChardonnay more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 90 pointsFull and rich with plenty of bread, salted butter, cream and buttermilk. Palate is a bit more linear and malic with green apple and mollusk shell. |

2011 Olivier Leflaive Puligny-MontrachetChardonnay more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 90 pointsLovely, this was one of only a couple of standouts for the lineup. Simultaneously showy and delicate, this has lovely white stone fruits, white flowers, a touch of tropical fruit and zippy acid. It will drink well young. |

2011 Olivier Leflaive Chassagne-MontrachetChardonnay more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 88 pointsBasic, simple and primary with easy white fruits, touch of pineapple and obvious minerals. The Leflaive wines aren't what they usually are in '11. |

2/12/2013 - Reptibark wrote: 90 pointsVery closed down at this point and very tough to really judge. Blackberry seeds, crushed currants, graham and red fruits are there but they are buried deep. One for the back of the cellar. |

2011 Domaine Jacques Prieur Volnay 1er Cru SantenotsPinot Noir more |
2/12/2013 - Reptibark Does not like this wine: 87 pointsMissed the mark for me and I'm an admitted Volnay fan. Too much red pepper, heat and spice and not enough fruit to balance it out. |

2011 Domaine Jacques Prieur Beaune 1er Cru Clos de la Féguine BlancChardonnay more |
2/12/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 91 pointsMy first experience with a white Beaune so while I don't have a basis of comparison for quality, this was very, very good and interesting. I thought of it like a cross between the linear, crisp, fruit driven side of Puligny Montrachet and the richer, woody, plush side of Meursault. It's expensive, so I don't know if I'll buy but I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for future white Beaune. Lots of soft white fruit, minerals, spice and a lovely finish. |

2011 Faiveley Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des MyglandsPinot Noir more |
2/19/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 89 pointsThis v. the Mercurey "La Framboisiere" is a wonderful case study in the difference between village and 1er Cru wines. This is just so much darker and fuller with prune, plums, blackberry jam, currants, clove and Indian spices. |

2011 Domaine Jacques Prieur Beaune 1er Cru GrèvesPinot Noir more |
2/12/2013 - Reptibark Likes this wine: 90 pointsClosed at first but after a few minutes and swirls int he glass it opened up more with red, blue and black fruits, soy sauce, delicious spices and more power than expected. Very tannic. |
